Merry Christmas

Tonight, as my family and I gather together to celebrate Christmas, I can’t help but feel completely blessed.  Blessed with an amazing family, healthy, happy children, a successful business and love.  It has been a fantastic year for all of us…full of challenges, laughter and happiness.

Thank you, internet, for being a part of my life.  You’ve made it fun and happy.

Much love to you and yours this holiday season,

Isabel

For the Floridians

My phone rang earlier than usual this morning.  Apparently, news in Florida paints a grim picture of what’s going on up here and my people worry. It’s no big deal. Just a little snow fall.

And yes, I wore a jacket…and mittens…and boots…and a hat :)

And the best part?  We made her shovel the sidewalk and get a true dose of winter. hehehe.

Church of the Messiah and The William Penn Inn: Maggie and Pete | Married!

Oh Maggie and Pete…what a rainy day we had on their wedding day.  But it was still an amazingly beautiful day. Though simple in it’s design, their wedding was romantic, personal and loving.  They pledged their love to each other in front of close family and friends at Church of the Messiah, a church that Maggie’s parents and grandparents both were married at, and then held a small intimate dinner at The William Penn Inn. Notforesaking tradition, their day unfolded beautifully and I couldn’t be thrilled to have been a part of it.  April tagged along with me and together we totally rocked it!  Some of April’s images are below…Oh! and make sure you check out their SLIDESHOW.

Maggie collects blue M&Ms…

Maggie, you are ridiculously GORGEOUS! :)

Pete’s not too shabby either!

Though I have an entire blog post planned for first glances, let’s just chat about them for a second.  They are FANTASTIC and seriously, one of the the best things you could do on your wedding day.

Shoe stylin :)

For all my photog friends out there…the church was PITCH BLACK! Gorgeous, but solely candlelit except for the alter.  April can tell you how crazy hard it was to photograph.  But the Mark II handled 3200 ISO beautifully. :)

Society Hill, Philadelphia Engagement: Breanna and Nick

When Breanna saw these images she held back tears and said, “I LOVE the sweet faces Nick makes when he is looking at me.”  I smiled. My job was done. Capturing the moments in between…the way he looks her, the way she smiles at him.  The undocumented love that they have for each other that most of the time, they themselves don’t even notice.  That’s what I strive to capture with every photograph I take. Emotion. Connections. Love.

They’re getting married in a few weeks and I’m incredibly excited to be a part of it.

Let’s discuss sweet light…

And then, when the light was no more, we wrapped up their session at The Franklin Fountain. My new love.

TONS more, because we scoured the city for well over 4 hours, can be seen in their SLIDESHOW.  Go, run…watch it!

Doylestown Engagement Session: Amanda and Fran

I could have photographed them all day long.

They flew in from Australia for their session…well, and to take care of other stuff for their July 2010 wedding.  Amanda and Fran are a photographer’s dream…throw in left over from yesterday’s snow fall and fabulous light and it just makes for a perfect photoshoot.

A Sugar Coma

Every photographer says that their clients are the best.  Well, mine aren’t the best.  They are FANFREAKINTASTIC!!

If I die from a sugar coma, blame Jamie (the sultry bride a few entries back), Mike and their generosity.  Jamie showed up at my house tonight bearing this ginormous bucket full of treats…and…CAKE!!…and STARBUCKS!!

Seriously…my favorites.  If anyone ever wants to get me chocolate…truffles are the way to my heart.

For the love of coffee

Other than the obvious love that we have for my sister, nieces and nephew, my brother-in-law, John, and I share a passion.  It’s for coffee. Dark, strong, robust java beans ground and then served hot with the teensiest bit of cream. The kind of coffee that you feel as it goes down your throat, the kind that makes you smile after that first sip, the kind that wakes your ass up and kicks it if need be….that’s the kind we adore, crave, have everyday…at least 3 times a day.

The kind that if you frequent Starbucks as much as I do, can get freakin’ expensive.

As I was preparing my year end reports for Mike, I happened to glance at my coffee expense and nearly choked on the proverbial coffee bean.  It was then that I came to the conclusion that I needed to procure a less expensive alternative to my beloved latte, less be prepared for Mike’s sure to follow, “WTF?!”.  After much online research, price breakdown and comparisons in Consumer Reports, I settled on a Tassimo single serve. Not to mention, it’s pretty and shiny.  I like shiny things :)

I’m in love. No more running out to Starbucks, but rather enjoying my beloved latte at a significant cost reduction all the while wearing my monkey pajamas and cozy slippers.  Best part…Mike’s happy too.  I bought him a variety of teas that he can enjoy.  :)

John, when you’re ready…I’ll meet you at my coffee bar and I’ll be happy to be your barista!  Bring my sister, too.  She’d like to visit :)
