Empire State Building Wedding: Carolina and Ramon

As 2009 draws to an end and we celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, I can’t help but feel extremely blessed and grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing this year.  It’s been an incredible ride that I never imagined myself on.

I still remember the afternoon that I received Kenny’s call asking if I would want to photograph two weddings for TLC in New York City for a new show that they’re premiering next month.  I nearly crawled out of my skin with excitement and as the day drew closer, nervousness; Not only would I be shooting a wedding while being filmed for national television, I would be in an extremely powerful city photographing a couple whom I’d never met.  However, as soon as I composed myself I knew that there was one person I HAD to take with me…my friend and fellow photog, Lauri.  She and I would conquer this wedding together and totally knock socks off. And that’s exactly what we did :) Carolina and Ramon were nothing short of amazing and 10 seconds after being in their presence I felt at home and as if I had known them forever.  Lauri and I became their friends, fast, and went along for the crazy ride dubbed their wedding day as friends with fancy cameras, not photographers.  The day, despite its rapid pace and craziness, was amazing and truly a wedding that none of us will forget.

The day started at the Millennium Hotel, Broadway where Carolina and her daughter got ready.

The BEST Maid of Honor.  EVER. :)

Not to mention, one of the most gorgeous ones :)

The Empire State Building is one of NYC’s icons and Carolina and Ramon were married on the 55th floor.

Ramon eagerly awaiting his bride…

Despite the cameras rollin’ right in their faces, they did a stellar job of focusing on each other as they said their vows…

The new family :)

So before having to head out to wedding number two scheduled 15 minutes later, Lauri and I snapped the quickest bridal portraits ever…

Carolina and Ramon…it was an absolute pleasure and honor :)

Bear Creek Mountain Resort | Erin and Dustin: Sneak Peek

Yesterday was my last wedding for 2009 and it could not have ended on a more bittersweet note.

The sweet…

The bitter…well, my beloved 5D Mark II was destroyed.  It fell, it crashed onto the floor, it died a quick, painless death. Still, I smiled the entire day and thanked my guardian angel for the strength to move forward and continue to rock Erin and Dustin’s wedding, backup equipment, insurance and warranties.

2009 weddings…OMG! I can’t begin to thank all of you who allowed me to share your families, your friends and your incredible weddings with you. It has been an unbelievably AMAZING ride for which I will forever be thankful.

A bird’s eye view

It’s been a few days since Sophie came home and she’s acclimated herself to our crazy environment…which, honestly, sometimes requires a stiff drink. This morning, as we discussed the day and sipped our coffee, Sophie participated in the morning meeting…high above her perch.

A love story

He’d been dreaming of her forever. He’d pass by her and whisper to her in a hush tone.  Sweet nothing that would make feathers stand on end.  Their meetings would be brief but thought of often.  He longed for the day that he’d get to hold her.  She longed for his company and soft hand caressing her back.  Their love is like no other.  A true friendship…a dream come true for both of them.

Saturday, the wait was no more and she joined him.

Meet Sophie.  Mike’s new love.  Ever since he was a little boy he’s wanted a bird.  Sophie was a perfect match. :)

If not this…then that

Elia was studying theorems last night…clearly a form of torture that some mathmetician thought of.  She was struggling and asked for some sort of interpretation in english.  After brief thought I came up with a visual for her which resulted in tons of giggles.  Totally on point.

If not this…

Then this…

My 10th grade geometry teacher would be proud of the fact that I’ve finally applied his teachings to real life. :)

Meredith Manor Wedding: Ellen and Steve

Ellen and Steve are sweet. Like cavity sweet. And their boys? Bestill my beating heart…I adore them.  Together, they compose the cutest love song of a family.

Meredith Manor served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.

My favorite family portrait. Ever. :)

Ellen and Steve…thank you so much for having me along!  Big fat hugs to you both!

These are their fabulous friends, who stood by their side…

7 sexy girls…

7 ultra hot guys.

…who are crazy fun…

…and ultra fab…

…who will live happily ever after…I’m so very glad :)

Jen and Nick…thank you so very much for allowing me the opportunity to spend the day with you, laugh with your friends, hang with your families and eat the most fantabulous cake I’ve had so far!  Oh…and since I know I’ve left you wanting more, here’s their SLIDESHOW.
