Byer’s Choice Engagement: Meghann and Matt

Fate.  Three months before her wedding, I got a frantic email explaining how their photographer had totally bailed on them and wondering if I was available to shoot their wedding.  It was the only date open in my book until November.  Fate brought us together and I’m so totally glad that it did.  Meghann and her mom met with me soon after that initial email and we chatted for well over an hour,  immediately clicked and totally hit it off.  I heart Meghann….and then I met Matt and both my camera and I fell in love with him.

They are amazing together.  Fun and vibrant and full of love for each other.  The way they dance in the street, the way he makes her laugh, the playfulness that exists between the two of them…all qualities of an everlasting marriage.  No doubt fate brought them together, too.

I am beyond excited to be shooting their wedding exactly one month from today.  And if their engagement session at Byer’s Choice is any indication of how their wedding is going to be, I’m in for a great time!

Meghann…I want to thank your photographer for totally bailin’…  :)

Smooth moves…

And really…it’s all about making each other laugh.

The Weekend Recap

This weekend was absolutely crazy for me…but oh-so-fun!

Melanie + Ryan: Wedding|St. Isidore’s & Marjeane Caterers

Melanie’s fabulous Aunt Maggie and I used to work together and last year I got a really excited email full of exclamation points and smiley faces from Maggie describing her niece and her hunt for a wedding photographer. All those exclamation points and smileys were right on since when I first met Melanie and Ryan I could understand where all those smileys were coming from.  Mel and Ryan are perfect for each other…she’s full of dreams and he makes sure that they are fulfilled.  He holds her hand and she just melts.  Together, they’ve built a beautiful home and now, as husband and wife, have established a solid foundation.  Surrounded by the love of their families and breathing a big sigh of “yay! we finally made it!” Melanie and Ryan were married a couple of weeks back.

Below are some of my favorites from the day…but definately check out their SLIDESHOW for a ton more!

Her fabulous Mori Lee gown…

It helps when your sisters and B.F.F.’s are by your side helping you get ready for your big day!

The handsome couple…

A super happy grandfather escorting his beautiful granddaughter…

Some fun formals at Byer’s Choice

We all *heart* Dan, the limo man…

Givin’ the bride and groom a run for their money with their cuteness…

Their first dance

Speeches are always fun…especially when the maid of honor can’t decide if she wants to laugh or cry…

Mel and Ryan…your day was spectacular!  I’m beyond thrilled that I was able to share it with you!

I’d definately be remiss if I didn’t thank Marjeane Caterers for doing a fabulous job, Dan the Limo Man for going the extra mile with dress fluffing and red carpet treatments and my super assistant, Jen for rockin’ it at her first ever wedding.

Melanie & Ryan | Sneak Peek

In an effort to blog everyday, once a day…

The Greatest Show on Earth

The postcard arrived in the mail over 2 months ago and for those two months, Nico would stare at it every night at dinner and sigh saying, “I really wish we could go to the circus.”  I really don’t know where the kid gets his dramatics from… wink, wink :)

Well, magically, tickets to the circus arrived and finally the day came.  And we went.

Clown college before the show=AWESOME!  The kids get to participate and interact with the clowns and acrobats…

Nico’s WOW face when he saw freaky trapeze lady…

Secretly, I think Mike always wanted to be in the cirus.

The stuff that the trainer’s get their animals to do is simple awesome.  I heart the elephants.

And really, they don’t call it the Greatest Show on Earth for nothing.

The light in the kitchen

At around 7pm during the summer months, our kitchen looks likes this. I love to bask in it with my boy.  And rather than the traditional pictures one would get on mother’s day…these are what I got. I heart them.

Sarah + Will: Engaged! | Ridley Creek State Park

Absence. It makes the heart grow fonder. It makes you cherish every moment you have together. It makes time stand still yet move at a hundred miles an hour.  Will and Sarah are engaged to be married in July. He’s in Ohio, on active duty, she’s back at home in the outskirts of Philadelphia.

I had the amazing privilege of spending an afternoon with them…one of the few they have together every so often.  I just told them to spend time together and that I would just follow along with my camera.  This is what I captured.

Ridley Creek State Park is amazing, beautiful and tranquil…a place where Sarah and Will spent many an afternoon…both sunny and rainy, together.  Guys, it was a pleasure spending the afternoon with you.  I can’t wait until your Fourth of July wedding!

Tons more images can be found HERE…in their slideshow.

Mom

Mom…as far as they go, mine was a total bad ass and the absolute BEST! Not to mention, she was super beautiful.

While I could write about the lovely flowers and breakfast in bed that I received this morning, I’d rather highlight my mom and also give my sisters a little present :)

Our mom was the most selfless, loving, nurturing, amazing mother. Ever. There was nothing in the world that she wouldn’t have and didn’t do for us. And before I get way too sappy, I just want to say that she was right…there isn’t a day that goes by where she’s not thought of and loved more than the day before.  She is insanely missed but certainly not forgotten.  We love you, vieja!

Happy Mother’s Day…to my sisters, my nieces, my sister-in-law and to all the other momma’s out there.

Sarah + Will : Sneaky Peeky

Doesn’t she look happy?

Nature’s lawnmowers

Did you know that I sound like Fergie when I sing?  Yup. I do.  Especially in the car with Glamorous blaring over the speakers.  But, I digress. Friday night, as I was putting on my best Fergie impersonation, I pulled into my driveway and was stopped short by this:

Yes, Internet, those would be farm animals in my yard.  At first I thought that Mike’s insatiable love for animals had exploded and that he had gone crazy and ordered that a zoo be delivered to the house.  So, rather than being able to park in my usual spot, I was forced to turn around and park in the front of the house.  As I walked through the front door, Mike excitedly greeted me with, “did you see the petting zoo in the backyard?!”  Apparently, the church with whom we share an alley with is hosting a “family friendly Friday” event every first Friday of the month.  This month it was a petting zoo!

Despite the rain drops falling, we grabbed our umbrella and headed to the back yard to see and pet some animals.

Nico’s favorite…

After they left, we noticed that they had done a fantastic job of “mowing”.  Particularly, this guy…
