Fourteen

“Life moves at you pretty fast.  If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

It’s one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies and it’s so true.

Today, she turns 14. Seriously…14.

I look at her and shiver at the thought that she looks like me, definately acts like me and is growing up way to fast.

She’s into the “non-smiling” faze. Braces. Though we assure her that her smile is beautiful. She refuses and gives me this.  Still beautiful.

I promised her this morning that I’d keep my entry short and sweet.  Just flash a few pictures, wish her happy birthday and move on.  So, Eli…HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I LOVE YOU!

-Mother

(yes, we’re at that stage, too.)

T-minus 11 days and counting…

“Hey, Is…where you been? Is everything ok? Why have you been neglecting the blog?!”

Today alone I received 4 emails that said just that. And yesterday, when Mike asked me if I twittered, I sighed when I looked at my poor, neglected blog and saw that it had been more than a week since I had last paid any attention to it.  Sniff, Sniff…

But no worries!  I am here…engulfed in this…

…in anticipation of my niece’s fantabulous wedding taking place next Friday in Florida.  Programs, Menus, place cards, table cards, guest books and other doo-dads, oh my!

It’s been crazy and yesterday as I inhaled my Forbidden Chocolate Sundae, I saw a glimmer of a finish line.  I can’t wait to see it all come together!

Krista + Jeff : Engaged!

Their wedding is in a couple of weeks…

Krista, Jeff and I spent some time a few weeks ago, away from the craziness that wedding planning consumes us by, to shoot their engagement pictures.  We took advantage of the unpredictable weather that we had been handed that day and headed outside…to shoot pictures, to chat about the wedding, discuss drinks and other fun, awesome plans they have for their wedding.

Despite the craziness that wedding planning creates, though, I’m glad that these two don’t let it get to them and remember what’s important…each other.

Krista, the beautiful bride….

And Jeff…the soon-to-be groom that said he wasn’t the smiley type…

For tons more from our session…here’s their SLIDESHOW.

Guys…I can’t wait for your wedding in a few weeks!

so that she doesn’t feel totally neglected

Ever so patient, ever my favorite (along with my other 3 nieces), my niece, Jasmine, has been waiting for pictures that I took of her insanely cute family on one of my recent trips to Florida.

Along with the other million items that are on my ever expanding to-do list, I’ve taken time every night to work on her images….suuuushhhhh!! Don’t tell her — wink, wink!  I keep looking at this one…LOVE!

I want to see it ginormous on her wall, on a canvas.  So them, so Florida, so one of my favorites right now.

Jenna + Derek: Married | Aldie Mansion, Doylestown

A few months back I had the awesome pleasure of shooting second to Michael Barone and together we shot the wedding of Jenna and Derek.  AH.MA.ZING! Aside from being super sweet, Jenna had all the details of her wedding perfectly tended to.  Derek…well, he was all smiles all day and together, they danced the night away after their beautiful wedding ceremony.  Surrounded by family and friends, Jenna and Derek pledged their love for each other and started their life together as husband and wife.

Below are some of my favorite images from their wedding… and definately make sure to check out their SLIDESHOW for tons more.

Their ceremony was held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and their reception took place at the beautiful Aldie Mansion.

Jenna’s beautiful Olga Cassini dress.

The making of a beautiful bride…

The handsome groom…

I love it when couples decide to see each other before their wedding ceremony…it makes for totally relaxed portraits.

I love Dad giving the thumbs up as he’s getting ready to walk his daughter down the aisle.

A tender first dance…

A touching father, daughter moment…

The Jack Faulkner Orchestra had everyone on the dancefloor then entire night…

Jenna and Derek…thanks so much for allowing Mike and I to document your wedding.  And Mike…thanks for letting me tag along with you!

An awesome way to end the weekend

So they’re calling for all sorts of snow tonight and tomorrow…enough for a snow day (keep your fingers crossed!) I’ve spent the entire weekend indoors working, but I took some time out this afternoon to shoot the engagement session for Kaitlin and Kerry.  Love the views that Valley Forge National Park has to offer.
