Happy Halloweenie!

Jen & Rick: Married!

She breathed a sigh of relief…relief that the zipper on her dress was finally up, relief that the dress looked amazing on her, relief that the day had finally arrived…relief that she was on her way to marry Rick.  Despite the rain and the dark clouds that were looming overhead, Jen was nothing more than radiant on her wedding day.

They had planned a garden wedding at the Curtis Arboretum. Mother Nature, however, had other plans and dumped tons of rain on us.  Nonetheless, a tent was popped and the wedding proceeded without a hitch. As the ceremony began I giggled at the fact that no one was looking at each other, the bridesmaids couldn’t look at Jen, Jen couldn’t look at Rick and Rick couldn’t look at Jen.  I found out later that they were fighting back tears and at the risk of running mascara down their faces (everyone but Rick, that is), they avoided eye contact. Finally, though, they were married and surrounded by family and friends, embraced the notion that they were now husband and wife.

The bridesmaids (Jess in particular) and groomsmen, were seriously amoung the bestest ever! I loved their energy and genuine love that they showed towards Jen and Rick.

 You’re a tiger…grrrr, baby!

And I’d definately be remiss if I didn’t give mad props to the fantabulous Laurie for her invaluable help. Thanks for being such a rock star!

Also, I want to give Jen mad props. Jen is a budding photographer in her own right and I expect to see great things coming from her. Mad props for following your heart and doing something for you — just make sure it’s all backed up! hahaha!

Jen and Rick…well, you know…thanks! Thanks for naggin’ on dad, for entrusting me with your wedding day memories and for simply being AWESOME!

AYKM

Are you kidding me that it’s snowing outside and it’s not even Halloween?

Tiffany & Drew: Married!

Their dreams are made out of real things…

Tiffany and Drew had a picturesque, intimate wedding that truly captured the essence of their love and commitment to themselves and their daughter, Maya.  Nestled in a tiny patch of garden in the middle of a bustling town, they exchanged heart felt vows that had everyone, myself included, in tears.

Tiffany was excited, anxious and totally beautiful when I arrived…

Her closest friends and sister were just as beautiful…

The groom and his groomsmen weren’t too shabby either!

Bling!

The anticipation of the day was built even more since right up until the last minute there was a debate as to whether or not the weather would hold of or if the ceremony should be taken indoors.  Finally, the outside vote won and it lent itself to the intimacy and perfection that surrounded their ceremony.

As a mom, I know that there is nothing more endearing to me than a relationship a parent has with their child.  Maya is insanely lucky to have Drew and Tiffany as parents…and Drew and Tiffany are truly blessed to have such an amazing little girl to call their own.  The part of the ceremony where Maya was brought up and vows were exchanged with her, was my absolute favorite. Thank goodness for autofocus!

Their vows to each other…funny, yet heartfelt seriously tugged at one’s heartstrings…

And then they were married!

Their reception was an intimate dinner at Susanna Foo…and it was simply amazing!

I totally love this moment during their first dance…Despite a room full of people, they made the moment their own.

And cake? There were two amazing cakes!

And finally…one of my favorites from the night…

Tiffany and Drew, thank you so much for allowing Mike and I to share in your day. I wish nothing more for you than a lifetime of harmonious dopeness. Much love and appreciation!

Alicia & Adam: Married!

There’s was the cutest, quaintest wedding I’ve seen yet. Out in the middle of Pottstown with tons of family and friends to share in their love.  Alicia and Adam were getting married and it was a perfect day.

Alicia and her girls were beautiful and a glance at their smiles and you knew that everyone was uber-thrilled to be sharing in Alicia and Adam’s day.

Adam was calm from the get go…totally ready to marry the girl of his dreams…

Kisses were a-plenty…

Tender moments…they were there too…

A little snug? Nah…just right…nice and tight!

 And then they were married!

A happy bride…

Some fun with the bridal party.  The guys had this move down pack…

The girls? Well…

Then it was off to the reception for some fun.  Definately one of my favorite shots…it’s as if they were all by themselves…

Cake and cupcakes! YUM!

Alicia and Adam…it was my absolute pleasure sharing in your day. You guys are amazing! FOR TONS MORE PICTURES, MAKE SURE TO CLICK HERE TO SEE THEIR SLIDESHOW!

Cuteness you can eat with a spoon

I about fell out of my chair when I read the email from my niece, Jasmine, that she was going to have a baby. It was one of those moments that I didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. She was young and not married…she wasn’t following the path that we, as a family, had wanted her to follow.  Then, I sat back in my chair and thought, “wait, I was super young…younger that she was…when I had Elia and I certainly didn’t follow the path that everyone had wanted me to follow.”  After going back and forth with the news in my head, I realized that this was a good thing and that she’d make it work….because, really, if anyone can make it work, it was my Jamis. She never follows anyone’s path; she plots her own and has always made it work, smiling and happy with the way that she had made things turn out for the better.

Time for her baby shower rolled around and I met Josh.  He is quite possibly the most amazing match that Jasmine could have found for herself.  He’s beyond sweet and compassionate and the best feature of all is that he is undyingly devoted to his children and to Jasmine.  Jasmine had lucked out and I was happy.

News of Kiki’s arrival hit the internet seconds after she was born. I think that within 7 minutes of her birth, I had already posted a cell phone picture on my blog that I had recieved from Titi Fefe, who had recieved it from proud papi Josh, a whopping 3 minutes after her arrival.  There hadn’t been a more highly anticipated birth in our family in quite some time.  I wished that I could have flown down immediately to share in the happiness, but due to my schedule and own obligations, I just had to share from way up here and wait, with baited breath, for pictures from the family members that were near Jasmine and Josh of the new baby.

Fast forward to the beginning of the month when we had scheduled our vacation to Florida.  I packed extra CF cards, extra batteries, my sexy lens and my heartthrob of a camera.  It was my mission to capture Kiki in her element, with her cutie smile and her big eye balls…to capture the ball of sweets that had captured everyone else’s heart. And let me tell you…it was love at first sight.  She greeted me with a smile that contained 2 itty bitty teeth and drool.  At nearly 8 months old, she was a happy baby with so much chunk on her that you could eat her with a spoon…just like a big spoonful of Ben and Jerry’s!

I spent the entire day with her, her vivacious big brother and her amazing momma. Watching Jasmine with her children was nothing short of amazing.  Any doubts I had on how she would handle the throws of motherhood were completely washed away and in return what I watched unfold in front of me was a mature, adoring, amazing mom.  And then Josh came home and I was happy.  His interaction with his family was unfaltering…nothing short of loving and sweet.  All was good and I am over-the-moon with excitement for what the future hold for this new little family.

Below are a few of my favorites…but really, you have to check out the SLIDESHOW to watch the cuteness unfold to a perfectly fitting song.

Jamis and Josh…words cannot express how insanely proud I am of the two of you.  You both are nothing short of amazing parents raising the most insanely cute pack of kids.  They are beyond lucky to have you.  You can tell in their smiles and giggles that they are happy and I tell you, next time, I’m sooo bringing my cake eating bib and eatin’ me some cuteness with a big spoon.

Tons and tons of love.

Sneak Peak

I can’t wait to show you the images from this wedding…

Sally & Mike: Married!

I followed the silence upstairs and found Sally concentrating on her make up. Not even the Food Channel Network’s description of the perfect quiche could drown out the sound of the pouring rain that pounded on the roof thanks to Tropical Depression Hannah.  No matter…Sally was marrying Mike and there was nothing that was going to get in their way.  The ironic thing…they’re from Ft. Lauderdale…hurricane central this time of year.

Their wedding was full of tradition and the room filled quickly with love from family members and friends near and far.  I remember a telephone conversation with Sally a few weeks before her wedding and listened to the details that she had planned…she hadn’t missed a thing.  One of the highlights for us was the entertainment.  See, Sally and Mike had hired professional wedding crashers and didn’t tell their guests.  Genius! It was a blast to see those four characters interact with the guests…the shocked, horrified expressions at all points during the reception were just priceless.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention, The Inn at Leola Village, specifically, Casa Di Fiori, where the wedding was held.  It was simply beautiful.  Stephanie and her crew were attentive to every detail and had the place sparkling.

Onto some of my favorites…

I gasped when I saw her wedding dress.  Quite possibly the most beautiful gown I have ever seen.

And shoes? Puhleeze…we all know my addiction.

And then the room started to get filled…and there were oohhhs and ahhhs.

And the groom? He was just as handsome as Sally was beautiful.

One of the best things that Mike and Sally could have done for us was have their bridal portraits taken before the ceremony.  I LOVE it when couples do that.

They were going for a vintage, 1950’s period wedding…and totally pulled it off.

One of my most absolute favorite shots, is one that my fantabulous second shooter, Lauri captured.  It was one of those things…the lights kept flickering on and off because of the storm and she just keep shooting and shooting.

I could seriously post images from their wedding all night long…but for more of them…check out the SLIDESHOW I created with my favorites.

Sally and Mike…I can’t thank you enough for allowing Lauri and I to be a part of your wedding day.  It was our absolute pleasure.  I hope Asia was a blast! (Yes, they went to Asia for their wedding…when I asked her what part, she replied…”all of it”.)

Much love and appreciation! Is

Signs of change

It’s not everyday that a presidential hopeful passes through our area.  Today, we had the pleasure of seeing one. Despite the immense crowds and waiting it was an awesome opportunity that we were glad to share with Nicholas.  Though he may not remember the event, it was great to introduce him to the change that our country is no doubt going to experience.

Sonia & Edwin: Engaged!

We spent the afternoon at the Camden Waterfront.  The place where they first met. The other side of the bridge with an amazing view of Philadelphia. We chatted about what the waterfront looked like when they were kids running around…how different it looked now that there were fountains and families and aquariums. But however different it looks, it’s still solid ground to them…and much like their love, it really hasn’t changed…just grown.

Technically, they’re already married. Many years ago they exchanged vows before a justice of the peace and have truly lived out their happily ever after.  Now, they’re going to do it all over again surrounded by the love of their family and friends and I am truly humbled that they have chosen me to capture their day’s events.

I rarely cross the bridge into New Jersey and it was a breath of fresh air to see the city from the other side…to see it’s splendor…and to share it with two people who spoke so fondly of their memories.

I absolutely love this sequence…

As they were waiting for direction from me, I caught these moments and absolutely fell in love with their tenderness.

Sonia and Edwin…thank you so much for spending your afternoon with me.  It was my absolute pleasure and I cannot wait to dance reggeaton at your wedding!
